Computer Class 2/17/10

In class today, use the link below to research milestones in Black History. Create FIVE questions about the section you were assigned on Microsoft Word with the answers with them. There should be at least one true/false question, one short answer question and one question that is multiple choice. The other two may be any type that you choose.

Put your complete heading(social studies) and the title is the Section with date that you were assigned. PRINT and hand in.

Next, you may work on the vocabulary website practicing your spelling words for the week.

Start with the first on the list. Look on multiple sites and write down important facts about this explorer. For Example, where they are from, where they explored, why, when, successful or not, etc. Try to write down at least a few facts for each during computer class TODAY.

1. First log on to book adventure and take the Sign of the Beaver quiz
2. Next take the Dear Mr. Henshaw quiz
3. Once complete, go to the website below and begin working on the worksheet. Use information from the website to complete all the information

Computer Assignment Nov. 16th

2. Click "View Slideshow" and read all the slides that are on the page.

3. Then go back to the first page and click "Play Webquest"

4. Play the Webquest and raise your hand at the end to show me your show.

5. Next go to the first page and click on the "Voyage on the Mayflower" and "Daily Life". You should explore all pages within these two tabs.

6. When you have finished, you may practice your states on Sheppards Software.

2. You may go to any of the Level Blue games (Hangman, word search, antonyms, etc.)
3. Make sure you are using Unit 6 words.
4. Continue to play all the various games until you have mastered them.
5. Once you have completed these you may continue on this or on Sheppards Software:STATES

If you did NOT type your character paragraph:
- Go to Microsoft Word
- Type you paragraph
- Make sure you have:
- Complete heading
- spell check
- re-read and edited as needed
- correct font and size
- Print ONE copy when complete
- DO NOT SAVE
- Turn in and follow the directions below
If you have already typed your paragraph:
- Turn in paragraph at front of classroom
- Click on Our Story
- Read the first page then click on Chapter 1
- Read the summary for chapter 1 then click the red arrow at the bottom of the page and continue reading all the summaries for each chapter
- Once you have read all the summaries go back to: http://library.thinkquest.org/6299/aboutour.htm and click on Beaver games. You may play any that you choose.

Computer September 21st
INDEPENDENT WORK!
1. Go Safari and open a new window.
2. Type in the search bar www.sheppardsoftware.com
3. Click on "US Geography Games"
4. Under the "Landscapes" column click on the "Play" button under "Tutorials"
5. Click on the map to highlight certain regions. A summary about the region will show up on the left hand side.
6. On your paper write:

General location:
One important characteristic:
7. Do this for every region on the map.
8. Once completed make sure you have a complete heading and turn in. (Subject is Social Studies)
9.. Once completed, you may go back to the previous page and under the "Landscapes" column click the "Play" button on the beginner level. Play until you get every region correct the FIRST TRY!
10. You may begin to learn "States" tutorials if you complete these tasks.

Computer Class Jan. 14th

Today in computer:

1. Open Microsoft Word
2. Head your paper for Social Studies; title President Chart
3. Create a new Table
4. The table should have 4 columns and 7 rows.
5. The Column headings will be : First (blank), second, third and fourth (names of three different Presidents)
6. Names of Row headings will be: first(blank), 2-7 will be Place of birth, Number President, Year of Presidency, Vice President, Political Party, and one interesting fact
7. You will use wikipedia to find the information to fill in the chart.
8. Headings should be bold and in size 12 Times New Roman Font
9. All other table information should be in regular font size 12 Times New Roman.
10. If you do not finish put your disk in and save as President table.
11. If you do finish, print and go to one of the links from the blog.

Computer Class 10/20/08

Computer Class 10/20/08
You are going to create an organizational chart for your social studies notes on Microsoft Word.
1. Open Microsoft Word to a new blank document
2. Click on File
- Go to page set up
- Change the Orientation of the paper to "Landscape" Click ok
3. In size 14 , Times New Roman font type your complete heading with Social Studies being the subject.
4. Type the title "Outline for Chapter 4 Lesson 1" in Size 14, Times New Roman font and make it bold and centered.
5. Go to "Insert"
- Diagram
- Choose the "Organizational Chart" and click ok
6. Click inside of the first box and type "Chapter 4 Lesson 1 Outline" Hit return and type the title of that lesson.
7. In one box type "Vocabulary"
8. In the two remaining boxes type the Subtitles of the social studies lessons.
9. Click in the Vocabulary box and then use the formatting box to "Insert shapes" Insert 3 boxes, one for each vocabulary word. Make sure to change the layout to "hanging right".
10. In the two subtitle sections you will also insert shapes to add more information. They will also "hang right."
11. Remember that one subtitle section has another subdivision you must divide up first into two sections before you may add notes.
12. Complete the shapes and organizational chart with information from your notes.
You will Save this document on your disk in the computer lab. Remember to "Save As" and that when you it you see YOUR NAME in the "where" space before you save.

Good Afternoon! You are going to type a minimum of one paragraph about any topic you want. You must follow all directions exactly as written. Include at least FIVE of the vocabulary words listed below. You will print this out and turn it in for a grade.

-Open a new blank document on Microsoft Word

--DO NOT SKIP LINES BETWEEN ANY LINES—
-- Use size 14, and Comic Sans font type

- Type your complete correct heading with the subject as “Vocabulary”

-On the next line type your Title as “Correct Word Usage”
-Highlight your title
-Go to the “alignment” tab on the formatting palette and click center

-Highlight and make the title bold

- On the next line (make sure you are left aligned again) begin typing your paragraph.
- Indent your paragraph
- Include FIVE of the words listed below, exactly as they are written.
You may use it more than once, but you must use five different words total
- Underline each word as you use it
